Wedding cake, between taste and photography

If you think that spouses are the only protagonists of marriage, I’m sorry to tell you, but you’re wrong. Indeed, the real queen of the day is her: the wedding cake. It represents the end of one of the most beautiful days of your life, so it takes so much importance.

In recent years I have been able to see, taste and photograph many wedding cakes, and with the passage of time I could not help but notice how colors, shapes and tastes have changed.

The wedding cake has always had the task of encompassing the meaning of the whole day, so it must be adapted to the theme of marriage and above all it must reflect the essence of the two spouses.

I still remember the early years when I started taking wedding photographs, and wedding cakes were much simpler today, and perhaps even better. The trend of these years, in fact, is geared towards the fashion of the American / English Wedding Cake. Cakes always higher and flashy. Everything reflects the theme of marriage: from colors to countless forms. But behind the aesthetic, one must not forget the taste. You can choose from infinite stuffings: chocolate, custard, butter cream, fruit jams. The spouses are spoiled for choice, but today I feel they have to give them advice: the cake must be beautiful, but above all good. In fact, after a whole day of celebrations, or work on my case, there is nothing better to enjoy a fresh and light cake to close in beauty.

About this, this year has spread a new fashion: Naked Cake, or “naked cake”. The word “naked” is contrasted with the fashion that is still in vogue so that the cakes are covered in sugar paste. In this case the cake is actually stripped of this coating and presented without any particular finishing but simply decorated with fresh flowers or fruit. This allows the cake to be extremely elegant and equally good.

In short, give space to fantasy and let yourself be dragged from your palate.
